Opening Ports for Elevate

Depending on where the Elevate host machine is located in the customer network, and what firewalls or proxies are in place, multiple ports may need to be opened for Elevate to operate correctly.

Historian Connectivity Ports

The following ports may need to be opened so Elevate can access historians within the customer network:

  • 5450, 5457, 139, 445 to PI and PI AF servers
    • These are required for PI and PI AF connectivity (139 and 445 are listed as optional by OSI).
  • 5481 to GeoSCADA servers
  • 1434 (ODBC), 443 (REST HTTPS), or 80 (REST HTTP) to IP.21 servers
  • Appropriate ports for OPC UA servers
    • OPC UA endpoints may be configured on different ports, so required ports vary by server.

Azure Connectivity Ports

The following ports are required for Elevate to communicate with Fusion Azure services:

  • 443 to the stmodels storage account
    • Used by Upload Service for bulk data and model uploads.
  • 8883 to IoT Hub sites
    • Required for downloading configuration, sending logs/metrics, exchanging Elevate control messages, and sending events/event frames from Store and Forward.

Authentication Requirement

Elevate Configuration Console uses an authenticated Azure user to configure IoT Hub modules.
Depending on the authentication method and user context, this may require:

  • 443 to login.microsoft.com
